Fasting is an Ancient Practice used across many Cultures to bring Clarity, Discipline and Healing to the Body, Mind and Spirit. By choosing to abstain from certain Foods, Habits or Stimuli, you invite your Spirit to rise above Desire and return to Balance. During Fasting, your Body is not deprived-it is purified. Your Organs rest, your Blood is cleansed and your Mind becomes still.
The purpose of Fasting is not only Physical but Spiritual. It allows your Prayers to become louder and your Intuition to become clearer. Fasting reminds us that we are not ruled by the Flesh, but led by the Spirit. It reconnects us to our Roots, Gratitude, and the simple Blessings that sustain us.
Always prepare for your Fast with Prayer and end it with Gratitude. Be gentle with your Body. Listen for your Inner Wisdom, which will guide you in knowing when to begin and when to end. This is not punishment-it is purification.
“Great Creator, purify my Heart, strengthen my Spirit, and cleanse my Body.
As I empty myself of Distraction, fill me with Peace, Wisdom, and Guidance.”
“With every moment I fast, I come closer to my Highest Self.”
Choose one Day, Meal, or Habit to release for a sacred Period.
Begin your Fast with a moment of Silence, Prayer or Smudging.
During the Fast, drink plenty of Water and speak only Loving Words.
Journal about any Emotions, Visions or Messages that come to you.
When your Fast ends, break it with a simple Plant-Based Meal and a deep Thank You to your Body.
In many Indigenous Traditions, Fasting is done as a Vision Quest-a sacred Journey to seek Purpose, Direction, or Healing. When the Body is emptied, the Spirit can travel farther and the Ancestors can speak more clearly. Fasting is often done with Ceremony, in Nature, and with deep Intention.
