Gentleness is Medicine. The way that you treat your Body, Skin and Mind sets the tone for your entire day.
In a world that often pushes for extremes like hard workouts, overstimulation and loud thoughts, choosing softness is an act of resistance and Healing. Your Body does not need to be punished to be cared for. It needs to be moved Lovingly, Nourished with Kindness and spoken to with Tenderness.
Gentle movement like stretching, walking, yoga or dancing freely helps you regulate your Nervous system while still building Strength and Vitality. Your joints and tissues respond with openness rather than pain. Your skin, too, is Sacred as it Protects you, feels your surroundings and reflects your inner world.
Your mind—it is a garden. Let it rest. Let it Breathe. Choose Thoughts that are soft, Forgiving, Patient. When your Body, Skin and Mind feel safe, your soul begins to bloom. This is the power of Gentleness as it Transforms everything.
“Creator,
Thank You for the gift of my Body, my Skin and my Thoughts.
Let me treat each one with the care and reverence they deserve.
Teach me to move with Grace, to touch with Kindness, and to think with Peace.
Help me to return to softness when the world feels hard.
Let my Gentleness be a Prayer that Heals not only me, but those around me.”
“I move gently.
I think softly.
I treat my Body, Skin, and Mind with Sacred care.”
Gentle Movement:
Do 10–15 minutes of slow stretching or walking while breathing deeply. Move in a way that feels natural, not forced.
Repeat softly:
“I am allowed to move slowly.”
“Gentleness is powerful.”
Skin Ritual:
After returning home or before bed, use a soft cloth or dry brush to gently cleanse or exfoliate your skin. As you do this, say:
“Thank you, skin, for protecting me today.”
Follow with warm water and Natural and Safe oil if available. (coconut oil, almond oil)
Mind Soothing:
Sit quietly for 5 minutes. Place one hand on your heart, the other on your belly.
Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 2, exhale for 6.
Say: “I give my mind permission to rest.”
In many Indigenous ways, the Body is honored as an extension of the Land. Just as we tread softly on Mother Earth, we are taught to treat our own bodies with the same Respect. Elders often encourage slow movement like walking the Land or dancing slowly around a Fire, not for exercise but to connect deeply with the Earth. Brushing the body with herbs, smoke, or soft cloths is a ceremonial way to remove outside Energies. Speaking Lovingly to your Self during this process is a form of Spiritual Cleansing, and it is traditionally practiced by many Indigenous cultures around the world.
